Uni-CornDog in "I Believe in Unicorns"!!! WWA Gallery Show 2010

Hi!As promised, here is my latest painting I did for the "I Believe in Unicorns" Group Show @ the WWA gallery in Culver City. The opening was last Friday Night and it was a Blast! My Painting is called Uni-CornDog! I decided to paint something that was related but not actually what you think it should be. I had a lot of fun making this piece, just on the colors alone and the pug in the corndog still makes me giggle. There's a blurry pic of me in front of my piece and they had a section at the back where you can pose with a Unicorn....hahaa..well, kind of a unicorn. That's (fellow show artist)Jeni and I in amazement of what we saw. hehee.... The group is Jen, Dave, Ed and myself in full unicorn pose! Danielle and Jim pose unicorn too! The rest are some pics from that night.

Something magical is in the air this June at WWA gallery as Industrial Squid presents its highly anticipated anti-apocalyptic group show entitled I Believe in Unicorns. To help celebrate fantastical happiness, guests will enjoy mouth tingling libations, including Cosmopolitans, and have fun getting their picture taken in the Magical Unicorn Photo Wonderland created and decorated by participating artists. The exhibition will run until July 10th.

I will put up the WHOLE piece after the opening, so it won't give it away! ;)

Back in January at our "Trappings" show at The WWA Gallery, we painted this piece. We started it at the show and finished it at CJ's and Mindy's Studio. Now it's just in time for their Benefit this May! It turned out Awesome! Everyone put in a little bit here and there--between daily life stuff and jobs~ Here are the girls who worked on it: CJ Metzger, Su Moon, Celene, Jeni Yang, Miss Mindy and I did a bit 'o' work on it too! Year of the Tiger!

There are a few reasons why I wanted to make a design to ring in the Year of the Tiger.
First, I was born in the Year of the Tiger, so I felt it was appropriate.
Second, even though I am not Chinese, my husband is and I wanted to create a card to send to our family and Third, I love the fact that it fell on Valentine's Day and a Full Moon to boot! SO, now that I've explained it....THE Best reason of all, is that I just wanted to draw it, mkaaaay. Teehee..... hope you like it and Happy Chinese Lunar New Year!! *snap, crackle, pop

New Painting!! A piece for the PIN4 Show @ Nucleus Gallery!

Hello Everyone! I know it's been awhile since I posted some work, but here I am. YAY!

First, I want to say THANK YOU to all of you who have been visiting my blog for these past 4 years! I just past my 4 year Blogaversary and I didn't get a chance to Celebrate! SO Thank you everyone for your lovely comments and your time to come a visit lil'o me. ;)



Second, This is a new painting for the Powers in Numbers 4 show being held at
Nucleus Gallery Store in Alhambra.
Opening: Sat. Dec. 12th
Time: 7pm-11pmAll pieces are 5"x7" and will be priced for $100 each. A portion is donated to American Red Cross. You can get some great work for a great price and a great cause. I've picked up some awesome work from artists Miss Mindy and Mari Chan over the years.:) Arrive early, because the line forms quick. Your allowed 5 pieces each.
I've been to 2 openings and I will be there for this one. This WILL be the last Live PIN show, because it is now going online after this. SO here's your chance to be apart of it before it goes! Hope to see you there!

Prints Available in JAPAN!!!

I was contacted by my friend Marty M. Ito to be apart of this awesome show in Sapporo, Japan called DIDO26 A One Night Exhibition & Party 2009!! I sent over two images they made into prints for sale. I was very happy to be apart of it and I am working on having prints available here in the US. In the meantime, say hello to BillyBird! He needs his coffee to stay afloat. ;) Cheers~
